Introducing Hot Flush Zine: Pilot Edition

A little publication exploring perimenopause and menopause through art, writing and storytelling

Four zines in a pile, slightly fanned out. They have bright pink covers. The illustration of a squeezed tube with product pouring from its nozzle, says "Menopause? Try This". Below is the title "Hot Flush". The illustration and lettering is in balck and white.

Back in 2023, while walking the South West Coast Path with my daughter, I had an idea for a creative zine about menopause.

As these things tend to do, that idea grew legs and wandered off in several different directions… and Hot Flush became a blog, community events, Menopause Meet-Ups and creative projects.

But I never quite let go of the zine.

So this year, I decided it was time to bring the original idea back to life. Hot Flush: Pilot Edition brings together seven creative contributors; artists, a poet, a storyteller, and a printmaker, to explore the lived experience of perimenopause and menopause through art, writing, and storytelling.

Woman, short grey hair, wearing glasses and a bright blue linen shirt. Sat at a desk with her laptop open. The zine artwork is visible on screen. In the background is a Hot Flush logo, pink background and yellow text. On the desk are papers in pink and white. Pen, pencil, rubber, ruler and lots of pin badges. Pin badges say Hot Flush; pink background and yellow text. Engage Your Rage; pale pink background, black and white ransom style text. After weeks of designing, editing, emailing, proofing, tweaking, I’m finally holding one in my hands. If you’d like a copy, click the button, which will take you to the Hot Flush shop.

And there’s more good news…
